Project Details
Schemmer renovated 11,610 SF of the first floor of Building 29. The existing space was completely demolished except for existing plumbing chases.
The new clinic reflects the PACT model as closely as possible within the constraints of the existing floor plan. The design took into consideration future expansions of the clinic in order to minimize disruptions/modifications necessary in the future. The reception and waiting area is centrally located to the main building entrance and elevators. Windows in the reception and waiting areas allow for natural light and views to the outside. The southeast and southwest wings have two teams each, and the northwest wing has one team. Each team is comprised of five exam rooms and two provider/nurse work areas.
Schemmer worked with the facilities management group to develop a design to maximize the clinic space on first floor. Additionally, a phasing plan was identified to ensure smooth construction and limit downtime of an actively used building. These efforts contributed to the project’s success.
Schemmer provided programming; architecture; interior design; mechanical, electrical and structural engineering.
