Steve is responsible for leading Schemmer operations across eight regional offices as our president and chief executive officer. Previously, he served as the firm’s transportation engineering group manager, delivering services related to bridge, highway and traffic engineering. Steve’s design and project management experience includes managing and leading multi-discipline teams for roadway and bridge design and federal-aid projects, requiring environmental assessments, public coordination meetings, agency coordination and DOT and Federal Highway Administration approval. Steve has served in leadership positions in several professional organizations including the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Nebraska and the American Society of Civil Engineers Nebraska section. He is the recipient of the ACEC-NE Charles Durham Achievement Award and has been elected to the ACEC national College of Fellows. Steve’s community leadership activities include the Board of Directors of the Boys Scouts of America Mid-America Council, Board of Directors of the ACE Mentor Program of Greater Omaha, and the Boys Town Boosters.
