John brings more than two decades of experience in architecture, working on both new construction and renovation projects from early design through construction administration. He has contributed to a wide range of project types, including multi-family residential, commercial office, historic preservation, senior living, entertainment, and educational facilities.
He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Iowa State University and continues to stay engaged in both the profession and the community. John is a member of the American Institute of Architects, serves on the Technical Advisory Network for the State Historic Preservation Office of Iowa, and is involved with the Hoyt Sherman Place Board of Directors. He is also a graduate of Schemmer’s Leadership Academy.
John has always had an interest in the history of architecture, which continues to influence how he approaches his work today, especially when it comes to preserving and adapting existing spaces.
Outside of the office, he enjoys live music, golfing, and watching his kids play sports. And if given the chance, he’d still take a shot at becoming a knuckleball pitcher for the Chicago Cubs.
