Michael brings more than two decades of experience in architecture, guiding projects from early design through construction with a steady, hands-on approach. His work spans a wide range of project types, including multi-family/mixed-use developments, military, industrial, commercial, student housing, K-12, higher education, and recreational facilities.

He earned both his Bachelor of Science in Design and Master of Architecture from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and is a licensed architect in Nebraska, South Dakota, and Iowa. Michael is a graduate of Schemmer’s Leadership Academy and has served on boards for the American Institute of Architects at both the local and state level.

Architecture has been part of Michael’s life from the very beginning. Growing up, his father designed and built both of his childhood homes, sparking an early appreciation for the craft. To this day, the smell of freshly poured concrete and cut lumber still feels like home.

Outside of work, Michael and his wife have turned their 1950s mid-century modern house into an ongoing renovation project. They will tell you they agree on everything when it comes to design. They are also raising a large and growing family, with six kids and two granddaughters, and he offers one piece of parenting advice: do not take parenting advice.
