ACE Mentoring Program kicks off in Omaha

The Architecture Construction Engineering (ACE) Mentor Program of America's Greater Omaha affiliate kicked off their program on Wednesday, January 18, in Omaha. This nationwide program is designed to introduce high school students to the wide ranging career opportunities available to them in architecture, construction, engineering and related areas of the building design and construction industry. At weekly meetings, a student team will work directly with volunteer mentors including Schemmer's Molly Macklin, Assoc. AIA, as they design a hypothetical project, tour local construction sites and visit architectural, engineering and construction offices.

Schemmer is one of more than two dozen Greater Omaha area firms participating in this program and contributing to a scholarship fund. Additionally, Schemmer's President and CEO Steve Kathol, P.E., S.E. serves on the board of directors of the ACE program.
