With success comes growth and expansion. This is the case for Ford Storage and Moving Company, and Schemmer was happy to meet their newfound needs by providing AEC services for a 150,000 SF addition, expanded parking and stormwater management.
Ford Storage Warehouse Addition
As Ford Storage continues to steadily expand in Omaha, Neb., its facilities needed to grow along with the business. The expansion effort more than doubled the area enveloped by Ford Storage's existing headquarters and provided the company with more than 70,000 SF of temperature controlled storage. The facility can warehouse climate-sensitive products including:
- Food-grade materials
- Animal health goods
Warehousing Climate-Sensitive Products
The addition consists of both conditioned space and ambient storage. The conditioned space maintains temperatures near 68 degrees Fahrenheit year round, with a maximum relative humidity of 60 percent in the summer and minimum relative humidity in the winter of approximately 5 to 10 percent. The pre-engineered metal building has precast concrete wall panels on the north, east and south, and metals panels on the west.
