During the market diversification, Schemmer also focused on public sector work, which resulted in the Department of Defense awarding engineering services to Schemmer for the following projects at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska.

  • 300 family housing units
  • Thomas S. Power Library
  • Child Development Center
  • Youth Center

We began working on major projects for the Veterans Administration in Omaha and Grand Island, and the concern for energy conservation led to the firm being commissioned to design the Omaha Housing Authority's solar-assisted LaFern Williams Center.
