Oklahoma Fun Facts:
- Oklahoma was added to the United States as a part of the Louisiana Purchase of 1803.
- Thirty-nine American Indian tribes are headquartered in Oklahoma, more than in any other state, partly because Oklahoma was the end of the infamous Trail of Tears for several Native American tribes. Only five tribes are considered indigenous to the state: Osage, Caddo, Kiowa, Comanche, and Wichita.
- The Oklahoma State Capitol is the only capitol in the United States with an oil well underneath it.
- Oklahoma's National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum has the world's most extensive collection of American rodeo photography, barbed wire, saddlery, and early rodeo trophies. It also features over 28,000 Western and American Indian pieces of art and artifacts.
- In the region of south-central Oklahoma, the beautiful Arbuckle Mountains are actually one of the oldest mountain ranges in the nation, at approximately 1.3 billion years old!
- Oklahoma is the home to almost 200 man-made lakes, which is by far the most in the United States.
- Get your kicks on more than 400 miles of Route 66 in Oklahoma. The nation's longest driveable stretch of Route 66 cuts through Oklahoma.
Schemmer's Oklahoma Offices
In 2010, Schemmer acquired C2A Engineering in Tulsa and opened a start-up office in Oklahoma City to serve the Oklahoma Department of Transportation as well as other clients. Earlier this year, Schemmer acquired Integrated Architecture, a six-person architecture firm with offices in Edmond and Stillwater, adding architecture to the services Schemmer provides in Oklahoma. Schemmer's Oklahoma City office joined the team in Edmond to serve the greater Oklahoma City region.
Schemmer’s 12 Oklahoma professionals all provide unmatched architectural, engineering and construction field services to our clients on all types of projects. They work collaboratively to deliver creative solutions that balance design, function, cost efficiency, and respect for the natural environment.
We help clients visualize their projects from concept to 3D virtual reality. Our team thrives on the challenges and opportunities that come with helping our clients reach their goals.
