PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: RAKA DEALERSHIP STORE | CLEAR LAKE, IA
When the Flatrock Group was looking at designing a new RAKA Dealership Store in Clear Lake, IA, they turned to Schemmer for assistance.
RAKA's Clear Lake facility is one of over a dozen dealerships across 5 states. They offer sales, rentals, and service for industry-leading material handling equipment. Their equipment solutions include the nation’s top brands of aerial work platforms, lift trucks, warehouse equipment and more.
One of Schemmer’s first tasks was to provide a design for the exterior that was sensitive to RAKA's existing interior brand standards. Schemmer was able to achieve this look by using:
- Different types of metal wall panels
- Glass
- Masonry
- Textures
- Colors
Schemmer was able to introduce the same concept to the interior of the building in order to provide cohesive branding throughout the facility.
The RAKA dealership is a 14,500 square feet building that includes 5,500 SF of showroom and offices, and 9,000 SF of services and storage space. Schemmer designed the RAKA dealership to allow for the display of RAKA's aerial equipment line while also keeping the maneuverability of trucks and cars in mind.
Schemmer was retained to provide Survey, Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering for the Project.
