Schemmer is pleased to announce that David Greusel, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP, and John Pluta have become shareholders of the firm. Greg Houston, AIA, NCARB; Zach Justus, MBA, CPA; and Joe Poole, PLS, have been named associates.

These professionals bring extensive experience, strong leadership and a shared commitment to serving Schemmer’s clients and communities.

New Shareholders

David Greusel, FAIA, NCARB, LEED AP, manages architecture and public assembly venues from Schemmer’s Kansas City, Missouri, office. With more than 45 years of experience, he specializes in arenas, ballparks, civic and convention centers, and athletic and recreation facilities. Greusel joined Schemmer when the firm acquired Convergence Design in January 2026.

John Pluta is Schemmer’s information technology manager. With more than 20 years of experience, he oversees the firm’s technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, data protection and system performance. His practical approach and problem-solving skills help ensure Schemmer employees have the reliable technology and resources they need.

New Associates

Greg Houston, AIA, NCARB, manages architecture in Schemmer’s Denver office and leads the firm’s architecture practice across Colorado. His experience includes commercial, mixed-use, industrial, multifamily and hospitality projects.

Zach Justus, MBA, CPA, is Schemmer’s finance manager. He directs the firm’s accounting, budgeting, audit, tax, purchasing, insurance and related financial activities across all locations.

Joe Poole, PLS, is Schemmer’s Lincoln metro survey team lead and a licensed professional land surveyor in Nebraska. He has 17 years of experience in construction staking, boundary surveys, as-built surveys and private development work.
