Schemmer Announces New Shareholders, Associate
Omaha, Neb. - The Schemmer Associates Inc. (Schemmer), a local full-service architecture, engineering, and construction field services consultant, is pleased to announce Nate Baker, AIA; Mark Gandy, AIA; Molly Macklin, AIA; Alex Roth, PE, and Tom Svoboda, PE have become shareholders of the firm. Schemmer’s new shareholders are key members of the firm who effectively utilize their exceptional talents to accomplish Schemmer’s mission. These five professionals join 25 existing shareholders in the privately held corporation. Tony Bruckner, RLS, was named an Associate, who similarly executes Schemmer’s mission to a high standard.

Nate Baker, AIA, NCARB, has more than 28 years of experience in new construction and renovation projects from design through construction administration. Nate’s experience includes churches, athletic facilities, schools, and a variety of other commercial buildings. Nate received a Bachelor of Architecture in 1992 from The University of Oklahoma.
Nate is a licensed architect in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, and Kansas. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Nate also serves as chairman of the Oklahoma Board of Architects, Landscape Architects, and Registered Commercial Interior Designers, as well as participating in, and chairing, various committees for NCARB and other local organizations.
Mark Gandy, AIA, has more than 35 years of experience in new construction and renovation projects from design through construction administration. Mark’s experience includes architecture and design in higher education, campus master-planning, research laboratories, faith-based architecture, research greenhouses, healthcare, and senior living. Mark received a Bachelor of Architecture in Environmental Design and a Master of Architecture with an emphasis in Urban Design from the University of Oklahoma.
Mark is a licensed architect in Oklahoma, where he currently serves as the Chairman of the Professional Advisory Board for the University of Oklahoma College of Architecture. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), past president of AIA Oklahoma, and serves currently as chairman of the Government Affairs Committee. Mark is an active member of the Edmond Rotary Club, and Edmond Chamber of Commerce, and also serves on the Board of Directors for Baptist Village Communities.
Molly Macklin, AIA, has more than 15 years of experience in new construction and renovation projects from design through construction administration. Molly’s experience includes architectural design and management for K-12 education, governmental, industrial, and commercial facilities. Molly received a Bachelor of Architecture in 2006 from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Architecture in 2011 from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
Molly is a graduate of the 2014/2015 Schemmer Leadership Academy class. She is a licensed architect in Nebraska and a member of the American Institute of Architects.
Alex Roth, PE, has more than 10 years of experience in all aspects of transportation projects from design through construction administration. Alex’s experience includes the design of highways, urban arterials, complex storm drainage systems, bridge hydraulics, and floodplain modeling. Alex received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 2013 from the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Alex is a graduate of the 2017/2018 Schemmer Leadership Academy class and the 2022 Schemmer Business Development Academy class. He is a licensed professional engineer in Nebraska and Iowa. Alex is a member of the Omaha Engineer’s Club, Lincoln Engineers Club, and Nebraska Institute of Transportation Engineers (NITE).
Tom Svoboda, PE, has more than 30 years of experience in new construction and renovation projects from design through construction administration. Tom’s experience includes military, governmental, education, and healthcare. Tom’s overall experience includes a successful 20-year career as an Air Force Engineering Officer. Tom received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Master in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Tom is a licensed professional engineer in Nebraska and Illinois and a certified energy manager. He is a member of the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers, the Society of American Military Engineers, and the Military Officers Association of America. Tom also serves on the Nebraska Business Development Center advisory board and the Properties Committee for the Boy Scouts of America.
Tony Bruckner, RLS, has more than 30 years of experience in topographic mapping and boundary surveying. Tony’s experience includes surveying for civil engineering projects including bridges, subdivisions, streets, airports, levees, dams, sewers, and buildings. Tony attended the Community College of the Air Force and has taken classes at Metropolitan Community College.
Tony is a licensed surveyor in Nebraska and South Dakota. He is a member of the Professional Surveyors of Nebraska (PSAN) and the National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS).
