New retirement home planned in southeast Lincoln

Schemmer’s new senior living project was featured in the Lincoln Journal Star. The Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commission recommended approval of a new retirement home, Pemberly Place, near Pine Lake Road and Nebraska 2 in Lincoln, NE. The 120-unit facility is proposed to have 40 independent-living units, 60 assisted-living units and 20 memory care units.

Finding the right development for this piece of land has not been an easy feat. Numerous proposals have come and gone for nearly 20 years, predominantly because they didn’t have a residential component, which the city has consistently sought for.

“I applaud the developer for finding something that makes sense in this location,” said Planning Commission Chariman Chris Hove.
