Schemmer’s Sioux Falls Office Moves To New Location

Schemmer's Sioux Falls Office Moves

Schemmer's Sioux Falls office has moved to a new location. Schemmer will continue to provide clients with our full-service in-house capabilities and deliver responsible solutions for complex design and construction-related challenges. From concept to completion, no matter what the needs may be, Schemmer has it covered.

Some of our Sioux Falls employees were asked a few questions about their new digs, this is what they had to say:

Liz Meyer, Architectural Designer

What are you most excited about with the new office?

"The view of the river! I try not to get distracted during webinars but saw a doe walking by a couple weeks ago and had to snapchat it."

Is there a lunch or coffee spot you’re closer to now?

"Caribou isn’t too far out of the way, and if I time it right, I don’t have to wait too long in the drive-through. Got to get that HoHo Mint White Mocha in the morning!

There is also a pet store/boutique close by that might be too convenient to grab the dogs a treat on the way home."

What is your favorite thing about living/working in Sioux Falls?

"I live just outside of Sioux Falls in Lennox, SD. I enjoy the combination of small town living with larger city amenities (like Chick-Fil-A). The commute isn’t too bad and gives me time to reset. The community of Sioux Falls is great for young professionals, welcomes newcomers and celebrates culture and art."

Robin Miller, AIA, Architectural Manager

What are you most excited about with the new office?

"1) Location, location, location.  It’s easier to get to for every one of us. Faster and easier to get on the highway for our out-of-town clients. Overlooks the river, which provides direct access to walking/biking trail and best of all, the soccer fields (my personal bias, of course). 2) It’s light and airy feeling.

Heck, check out the image to the right, taken out the window prior to our move in. 3) The new furniture, and 4) we dumped about 10 tons of outdated, unnecessary files, supplies, etc."

Is there a lunch or coffee spot you’re closer to now?

"Five minutes to my house where my wife often has our grandson for lunch. So, grandpa gets to do “hide-and-seek” or “invisible” or “horses” over some noon-hours."

What is your favorite thing about living/working in Sioux Falls?

"The people. The leaders such as mayor, governor, chief of police, etc. are all accessible. The town and the State is clean, safe (mostly) and growing at a steady (mostly) controlled rate."

Matt Sutton, PE, LEED AP, Civil Engineer

What are you most excited about with the new office?

"The office is located adjacent to the Big Sioux River and offers wildlife views from the office. We are also adjacent to the Greenway trail corridor which encircles the city and passes through scenic urban and wildlife areas."

Is there a lunch or coffee spot you’re closer to now?

"There are quite a few restaurants close by, but one of my favorite spots is Look’s Marketplace, which is only five minutes from the office. It’s a combination of a butcher shop, bakery, deli, grocery, beer and wine shop, and food hall. Unique and great food."

What is your favorite thing about living/working in Sioux Falls?

"Great people and being close to family."

Katie Ashmore, Business Development

What are you most excited about with the new office?

"I am a big fan of not sitting so close to the train tracks any longer. My hearing has improved since leaving the “never-ending horn” they blare while passing the old office many times a day."

Is there a lunch or coffee spot you’re closer to now?

"According to my phone, I’m only four minutes away from McNallys now! (Best Irish bar in town.)"

What is your favorite thing about living/working in Sioux Falls?

"The people, hands down."

Melissa Johnson, Administrative Assistant

What are you most excited about with the new office?

"Being five minutes from home and enjoying the seasons turn by the river. Plus, no train every hour on the hour."

Is there a lunch or coffee spot you’re closer to now?

"Panera is just down the street and I can hit Starbucks on my way to work every day."

What is your favorite thing about living/working in Sioux Falls?

"Sioux Falls is a great community to work and play. Always something fun to do!"
