The Timbercreek Apartments, a longstanding affordable housing complex in Omaha, has undergone a significant renovation. Owned by Mercy Housing and revitalized by Schemmer, the apartments now offer residents a more modern and comfortable living experience.
Originally constructed in 1974, the Timbercreek Apartments had seen decades of service. The renovation project included updates to finishes, cabinetry, plumbing fixtures, lighting, and mechanical systems to the 9 buildings and 180 units. Additionally, the complex was redesigned to meet accessibility requirements. Exterior improvements included new siding, roofs, doors, and windows.
The grand opening of the renovated apartments was celebrated with a ceremony attended by residents, community leaders, and project partners. Speakers praised the project's impact on the neighborhood and the positive changes it would bring to the lives of residents.
"Today has been a fantastic day," said Joey Trinity, Mercy Housing Project Developer. "After working with this project for over 18 months, this is the day you dream of as a developer or an architect."
"This is really the best part of any project," said Schemmer Architect Michael Sinclair. "Seeing it all come together and seeing the residents beam about their new home. It's the impact that you're having on the residents and seeing who truly appreciates the work you do. That's really what hits home for me."
