Schemmer's Michael Sinclair, AIA, NCARB, Shareholder, has been elected the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Nebraska Chapter President for 2020. He has served on the state board for the past four years, and previously on the Lincoln board for a total of seven years. The American Institute of Architects is the voice of the architectural profession and a resource for its members in service to society.
"As the 2020 AIA Nebraska president, Michael will bring his passion for the profession and care for the impact of architecture in our world. He will be a thoughtful and energetic leader who will serve with integrity. I’m thrilled he will lead the organization," said Pat Birch, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, Schemmer shareholder and 2005 president of AIA Nebraska.
Sinclair joined Schemmer in 2016. He holds a Master of Architecture and a Bachelor of Science in Design from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In his 20 years of practicing architecture, he has worked on projects for:
Michael is particularly talented in conceptual design; setting forth bold and unique visions that challenge, inspire and empower owners and clients to see how the built environment can inform and shape their occupants in uniquely creative ways. He still sketches with a pen and trace but takes full advantage of technology for parametric modeling, generative design and visualization through augmented reality when the need arises.
Outside of the architectural realm, Michael spends his free time with his wife and six children on weekly urban hikes. He also volunteers with the TeamMates Mentoring and Junior Achievement programs, inspiring youth to reach their full potential and impacting the world through a generational ripple effect.
