Schemmer Aircraft Maintenance Complex114th Fighter Wing, South Dakota Air National Guard New Aircraft Maintenance Complex Groundbreaking

The South Dakota Air National Guard broke ground today on its new Aircraft Maintenance Complex. The facility will consolidate maintenance operations and create efficiencies that will posture the 114th Fighter Wing for the future of fighter aviation.

The 47,765 SF Aircraft Maintenance Facility includes:

  • 10 F-16 fighter jets
  • maintenance space for fuel and wheels
  • general purpose shops

New Aircraft Maintenance Complex Project

Phase I of the project includes:

Administrative Offices

Planning and workspace:

  • weapons systems
  • avionics
  • electronic countermeasures
  • seat and canopy
  • electro/environmental
  • other essential maintenance shops

Support spaces:

  • restrooms
  • locker rooms
  • breakrooms
  • tool cribs
  • storage required for full-time staff and National Guard training weekends
