Schemmer's Liz Stanton Nominated for YPN "4 Under 40" Awards
"It's a huge honor to be nominated!" That's how Schemmer's Liz Stanton describes the Sioux Falls YPN "4 Under 40" Awards.
The event put on by the Greater Sioux Falls Chamber of Commerce highlights young professionals who stand out and make big impacts in their businesses, industry, and community.
Liz is a Designer for our Architecture Division at our Sioux Falls location. She has been in the AEC field of work since 2013 and has been involved with her community and YPN since she moved to Sioux Falls 8 years ago.
In 2019, Schemmer's Katie Ashmore, who recently and unexpectedly passed away, was awarded in the inaugural 4 Under 40 event. "Being selected has been on my wish list since Katie won. I have been fortunate to work for a company that supports getting out in the community and I hope to continue to grow professionally," said Stanton.
Stanton says winning is not about recognition for her. She says it's encouragement that she's on the right track. "Being nominated is confirmation that I am doing the right things to serve my community and employer. I didn't know anyone when I moved to Sioux Falls 8 years ago and I attended a YPN event before I even found an apartment. I've made friends in this group and to be selected by my peers would be a great honor."
This year there are 37 nominees and the winners will be announced at the Crossroads Summit on August 17, 2023.
