Dan Kerns, AIA, serves as Schemmer's commercial market leader, Omaha architecture group leader and senior project manager. In the last five years, Kerns has led design and project management efforts on some of Schemmer’s most recognizable projects, including a new corporate office and dealership at Truck Center Companies, warehouses at R&R Commerce Park, and most recently, a Class A office building, Waterford, at Fountain Ridge Business Park.

After two years at Schemmer, Kerns was named a shareholder. In 2018, he was tapped to become Commercial Market Leader, which entails responsibility for all projects involving commercial space, as well as business development and marketing. His passion, pride and competitive spirit make him a driven architect, bringing innovative and client-focused solutions to every project he produces.
Kerns is also the fearless leader guiding seven architecture team members in his role as the Architecture Group Leader in the Omaha office. Taking them under his wing, it is his job to make sure they are:
- trained correctly,
- assigned architecture projects, and
- able to do their job professionally and timely.
As the architecture team leader he also ensures:
- schedules,
- budgets and
- quality control standards
are being met.
